About Igor
Igor Rudnikov is an opposition journalist from Kaliningrad, Russia. For past 25 years, Igor was fighting for the rights of the people who became victims of the Russian government. Every year he revealed corrupted politicians, criminal organizations and fought for the rights of those who couldn't protect themselves.
Unfortunately, Igor was a victim of such a crime himself, he survived two attempted murders and spent 3 months at a detention center for revealing faults in local government.
Today Igor Rudnikov is 52 and he lost his freedom and basic human rights in the country which he served to and fought for freedom of its citizens.
We ask human rights and journalist organizations all around the world to speak up and help the fellow journalist and freedom fighter to overcome the false accusations!

Arrest on November 1st 2017On November first Igor Rudnikov was brutally arrested by the FSB agents.
After Igor Rudnikov was arrested in the lobby of his apartment building, he was brought to his newspaper office, where he spent the rest of the day while FSB agents were tearing through the newspaper materials and legal documents. After 12 hour search, Igor was sent to the emergency due to the fact that FSB agents were brutally beating him during the entire process of search.

Fake Allegations
Igor Rudnikov was accused of taking a bribe from the Kaliningrad's Head of the Investigation Committee Victor Ledenev. Now let's keep in mind that Ledenev was prior to Rudnikov's arrest was exposed a number of times by Igor Rudnikov newspaper accusing him of taking multiple bribes and owning a property worth of about 3 million US Dollars.
also, a day after Rudnikov's arrest court also heard the final hearing about the fate of the killer that attempted to murder Igor Rudnikov back in March of 2016. A number of Russian Human rights organizations and international Journalist Protection Committees expressed their concern about the legitimacy of the arrest and allegations against Igor Rudnikov and called Russian authorities to immediately release Rudnikov. |
